Not one of the more colourful hummingbird species, but still a beautiful little bird.

Good eye contact, soft light and open bill. I would sharpen the bird more and try to get more details in the blacks on the tail. There are some jpg artifacts in the BG. Maybe a slight crop off the right?

    Melvin:

Very charming images, like the reaching pose, spiderwebs, overall composition. Agree with Axel about the techs, and the small crop from the right.

    Cheers

Agree with above, with, overall, a very nice image. I hope sharpening will overcome the softness of the bird's head, but it may not. Personally, I found the spider webs distracting, possibly because they're OOF, and would consider removing them.

Hi Melvin, A great pose with open bill! Nicely exposed image for this little beauty. I would wish for more sharpness in the bird and would cast another vote for a slight to moderate crop from the right.

Thank you all for your comments. I can assure you that the original is 'pin sharp' - I must have lost sharpness during the jpeg to web conversion. This is something I have not had trouble with in the past. I must try Fab's recommendation to effectively' over sharpen for the web. Axel what and where were the jpeg artifacts you spotted?
Thanks again for your comments - we can only learn,
    Melvin
