Adult Forester's tern with fish. MK4 500 + 1.4TC, f/5.6 1/3200sec ISO 800. This photo was a huge mistake on my part, I was set for exposure with direct light then this guy suddenly dived into shade and I didn't have time to adjust exposure, the original is under-exposed by 2 stops :D I was able to rescue and bring out the details in post :)

    Thanks for viewing.

Hi Arash, for being 2 stops under I feel you handled the image quite well. Love the fish and the soft lighting.
The droplets also add impact to the image.

    Arash,

Greetings. Great action shot. The composition and the Chiaroscuro effect are appealing (you could submit for the OOTB theme, deadline today)...

The blue on the wings (probably accentuated by the underexposure) is a bit odd for my tastes... selective removal with a monochrome channel mixer layer also evened out the shadow (?) on the RHS tail (selected from a curve lifting the shadowed part):

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

    Thanks Al,
They are tough to follow, had a few with much better pose and wing position but clipped the wing/tail :D so disappointing when everything is great and some parts are clipped!!!

    BTW, here is the orig:

Lovely image, Arash, and well recovered. I think I would have failed to recognize the potential and scrapped this without trying. Not a huge ISO but I still would have expected some noise in recovering the underexposure. Repost looks good.
