    Barrow,Ak.-cropped from a body and head shot -Iwas too close to get the entire bird which was exciting to be that close to such a bird.
    He was shaking water from his body at the time.

    very nice pose and colors love the water drops, it appears to be a tight crop or too much noise reduction since the IQ has suffered a bit. TFS

    The droplets, eye contact and BG look very good. The bird looks a bit soft and there is some noise in the BG. I might put the bird a tad further to the left in the frame. How much of a crop is this?

    Good comments above. I often find that my loon or other waterfowl pictures look soft when they are shaking off. I suspect it is a combination of a wet bird ( wet feathers) and flying drops causing this effect.

    I agree about a bit of a crop from the left as well.
