    Default Denise and Roman workshop

I don't often post an image, there are far better images here than anything I can add but I went to the recent workshop at Nickerson with Roman and Denise, both of whom are extremely gracious and enthusiastic about what they do. I reall enjoyed the time spent and thought I would offer this image. Nickerson is an amazing place and, for me, quite challenging. While this may not be the best of the day technically it is an image I enjoy. I would like to thank Roman and Denice for a great workshop. Taken with the 7D, 500mm plus 1.4TC Manual (thank you Roman), fill flash.

Hi Carole - nice fine feather detail! Fill flash looks good, like the shooting angle and the inclusion of the feet firmly planted on the sand.
I get the feeling it could use just a little bit of CCW rotation - feels like it is titled to the right - could just be me though.

Carole, You are a fine photographer and you should post more-you have plenty to add to this forum!!:) I really like this one too. The pose and sharp details are wonderful. Great close-up and the fill flash looks good. Don't ask me about the rotation-I can never get mine straight It was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to shooting with you again.

Like it too Carole, and agree with Lance about CCW rotation and just a little tight. Great feather detail, and good teachers:)

Put me down for "LIKE IT" too, Carole. I'm like Denise, not sure about rotation. But a couple of other suggestions:
Set white and black points, and that will automatically warm it up a smidgen. I also did some selective sharpening
with Topaz Detail, which is good for bringing out the fine feather details that are lurking in this very nice image.

I always like it when a photographer new to this site jumps in with something different and creative as you have done here. Carole. The pose is interesting and you have received some great tips which I have learned from as well. Please post more of your work!

    Hey Carole,
Thanks! It was a really long day for you and glad you had a great time. Nice to see you were thinking a bit outside the box too with this one and some great advice given above to make a strong image.....shine even more. I'm even more thrilled you got manual mode! Looking forward to more and thanks again!

Carole, David's repost warmed the image somewhat and brought out more detail. I like the way you handled the image creatively using a tight crop.
Glad you got so much out of I'm sure a very instructional workshop taken at great place to shoot...
