Probably more coincidence than true interaction, but I thought it looked funny at the time.

Wonderful interaction and a good title. Light harsh and from the left. As presented the WHITES are toasted. Did you try to recover the WHITES during conversion? I like the foreground; a bit off the bottom would work.

Thanks, Artie. In this case, I think toast is toast, re: whites. Presented more for the interaction, with perhaps suboptimal image characteristics. Couldn't initially decide, re: crop at bottom, but I agree with you.

With white against middle/dark blue in full sun you need to be subtracting light from your exposures, and that goes for triple with Nikon. Best to take a test exposure in a given lighting condition and check the histogram and for blinkies....

Thanks, Artie. My bad on 2 counts: 1) Was frequently checking for blinkies, but realized later that I was on the wrong screen (went up instead of down from the histogram screen, or something like that), and 2) sun came up for a couple of minutes on a crappy day, and I didn't adjust accordingly.

With Canon we get blinkies and histogram in the same screen; no need to fiddle. With experience, you will sense the brighter light even when concentrating.

The whites may be toasted, but I laughed out loud when I saw this and the title. I still like it.
