Wow, very sweet, nice EXP, detail and eye contact, with a catch light to boot. I may burn the foreground a little as not to compete with the pretty subject.

Nice COMP and bird. And yes, the bright whites are very bright... I ran a small Linear Burn on the highlights and cropped from the bottom to lose some of the bright stuff. The one big bright rock on the left is problematic. A perfect head angle for this pose.

First off thanks for the critique, this place is great for that!

I ran the image through a GND filter in PS, and downed the exposure by 0.2eV.

Charles, Beautiful pose and sweet bird. I like Artie's repost better it isn't as dark. I love the feather detail.

Thank you very much Denise. I am currently having a few problems with my monitor (too bright) so I am having issues with the exposure settings in post. Seems like I need to get a monitor calibrator. Here is another image, I adjusted the exposure up just a tad, after allpying the GND filer.

Hey Charles. The last repost is quite an improvement. As far as brightness, adjust the angle of your monitor so that you can differentiate between the two lightest tones on the right and the two darkest tones on the left on the calibration strip at the bottom of each BPN page is more important than having your monitor calibrated. The latter is of course a necessity if you wish to have accurate and consistent colors.

Arthur, thanks for the tip, never noticed that scale on the bottom!

Denise, thanks. Now that I have the monitor thing figured out, hopefully my adjustments will be more precise.
