I took this while in the Galapagos from one of the paths. Artie actually pointed out the BG color and I loved it so I took a few shots.
    Slight crop for composition

The detail and colors on the cactus look great but the BG is what really takes this one over the top. I love it!

I like the pastel colors of the cactus and the BG. The light doesn't look harsh either which makes it very pleasurable to view for me.

I agree that the BG totally makes this image sing. It balances so nicel with the soft green; a delicious color combination! I also like the placement of the cactus within the frame.

Nice detail in the cactus. Cool soft colors...What is that in the BG?

Nick, It is reddish/orange vegetation. Not sure of the name.

    Hey Denise,
Agree with the others.....the contrasting colors of green and red take this one up to a whole other level!!! Super comp and great isolation against the outstanding BG!

Really enjoying your images from the Galapagos. Love the colors and the sharpness. Looking forward to more.

Beautiful soft colors and light. Simple composition. Good job.
