Although scrub jays are seen quite frequently around Merritt Island and other places in Florida I have not ever had the opportunity to capture one until a couple of weeks ago. They are really a very beautiful bird and I must add very friendly. !!!!

We have Grey Jays and blue Jays up here Judy. I have never seen one down there. I like the triangled perch, sort of leads you up and then out of the frame. Nice textures and varied hues of colors in the underbelly. The slight shadows are nice. I find the eye a bit dark, but maybe thats just me. A good composition here.

You got a very nice shot. We have them here (central Texas) also but I've never managed to capture one as good as this one.

    Beautiful!

We have these guys in Seattle, fun birds and beautiful. This is a wonderful photo, you captured the inquisitive look quite well. Nice color.

Beautiful perch, colors and, most of all, textures, Judy. The feathers have plenty of detail, yet they still feel soft.

That's saying something for a photo!

Nice boid, Judy Lynn! I have yet t see one of these cool looking fellers. I hope you don't mind, I made a Quick Mask inside your boid, used the resulting selection as a mask for a Contrast/Brightness Layer. I then brightened your Jay up some.

Beautiful details her Judy. Wish it was looking your way. The leaves add a lot in this image. I like Jody's repost.

Jody's repost looks better on my monitor. I also wish for more head turn toward you, but I don't need to tell you that. :)

He is a beauty, Judy. I do like the brighter repost--I have never seen one of these, although Tim says we have them.

Thanks Jody for taking the time to repost this image.. I always appreciate hearing and seeing other points of view. You did a fiine job in rocssing but my only nit would be that in reallity the scrub jays are not quite that light in color so it does not come off in my eyes as a true representation of the coloring of the scrub jay. Many thanks again Jody !!!!
