    Default Galapagos Sea Lion Blur

This is a composite of two images. The first one is the body and the face was completely blurred. I added canvas and re cropped it. I then merged a blurred face from another shot of this Sea Lion at a lower opacity. I liked the scratchy feel so I enhanced it with some USM.

Really like the monochrome palette Denise and the scratchy feel brings out the whiskers very nicely. Might be tempted to bring in just a little more eye (for contrast). Very nice.

Hi Denise - wondering if some Fract might add something to it :)

Beautiful composition, Denise. I definitely love the soft pallet here. Excellent pp in merging and the effect.

I like the textures and blur a lot. Nice PP work to get the composite you wanted. I agree that a sharper eye would make the image stronger. Very cool!

Denise; the idea of taking parts from one image to "fix" a blurred image, as in this case, is good one, and does require a bit of skill which you have demonstrated. I like the overall feel, but I would increase contrast a bit, remove the dark background "splotch" to the left, and give the image a 1 pixel black border(I know you probably have a reason you didn't want to, but IMO it is needed here). Also, as Lance has mentioned, I think a mild Fractalius treatment is warranted. Of course I have a bias. Good job. regards~Bill

Bill, I will take this back into photoshop and give it some more tweaks and I will even try a slight fract. on it. Thank you kindly for taking the time to comment.
