Default Short eared owl over grassland

One of the last remaining grasslands expanses on Long Island is under pressure from developers and it appears to be too late to save it. Which is a pity as four short eared owls have called it home this winter. This is one of my favorite images, created yesterday at dusk.

Thanks for looking and for your comments.

    Grace,

Can you help me out with a few things. You get some very nice flyers with the MK2n on tripod. This one is outstanding as well. Love the contrast and the fine details even from this distance. I am 6ft 6 with a bad back. I want to buy the Gitzo GT-5560SGT Giant Systematic 6X Carbon Fiber Tripod Legs (No Column) - Supports 55 lbs, with the Wimberley Gimbal Type Tripod Head II - with Arca Swiss-Type Quick Release Base (Requires Plate) from B&H, all for around $1,600 plus some extra goodies. Do you think the choice is a good one?

I hope you dont mind me asking you this in your thread. Just wanted to ask someone I knew from the forums and whose work tells me they know what they are doing.

Outstanding flight image Grace but it saddens me so much to hear that this beautiful grassland may be soon taken over by developers. So glad you were able to get this beautiful image with such an awesome BG and great eye contact. Love it.

Beautiful image of my favourite Owl, Grace. The BG compliments the Owl nicely. That is a shame about the land loss. :(

Very nice pose and complementing BG. I hope developers won't take over the area.
