Photographed last week at the Santa Ana river in Huntington Beach, CA. I wish for a bit more separation between the two but the little one was running all over the place and this was the best composition with acceptable sharpness.

    Thanks in advance. Best, JR

Hey John, great soft light and pastel colors. The low angle and interaction is great too. The only thing I might do is sharpen a tad more.

I'll have to try this spot sometime!!

I like the low angle, interaction and soft light and agree with Aidan regarding more sharpening. I would also try to lighten the eyes a bit.

The background makes this one stand out. I would lighten the eye of the adult and clean the bill if it were mine. I do like this one, it tells a story.

Great DOF. Like the shooting angle and interaction. Exposure is good and anther round of USM will do a great job. Well done !

I love the background and the story here - that young bird standing over the tired adult, continuing to hound it for more food. Great. I wish the eye on the adult was brighter. Perhaps more detail could be brought out with some sharpening.

Very nice interaction and BG, it wool benefit from lightening the blacks and sharpening around the faces. TFS.

Yep, more sharpening would be preferable. I guess I should put the glasses on before making a post early in the morning... :o

Thanks for taking the time to comment. JR

The angle does it for me, a touch more sharpening maybe lighten eyes and a small light spot in foreground (underneath bird on right) I would have cloned out. Love the bg and fg colours.
