Nice image. I like the eye contact. It is always difficult to take images of animals in water, as the wet portion tends to reflect light and attract attention. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely colour and detail in that wet skin Ken, plus good eye contact.

    Al,

I'm not one for using a polariser too much as I really have no idea how to use it:D Not to sure if it is possible on 500mm.

The colours are intended and reflect the Hippo, they go red in the sun (suntan lotion) and this one had been out most of the day.

    Thanks for the nice comments

On the primes Ken, both Canon & Nikon use a drop in 52mm filter at the back of the lens. They aren't cheap of course (bought mine 2nd hand from B&H) but do come in useful at times.
A simple pinch of the Drop-In filter latch opens and allows insertion/removal of the filter. A small wheel exposed at the top of the filter allows rotation adjustment, for a CP filter, rotate the wheel to either cut
the glare in water or to enhance sky colour, etc.

    Marc,

    Thanks for that $170 at B & H;)

Here is a repost using Nik Polariser , my set is so old it will only work in CS3.

    Does it look better?
