Al's boat images remind me of my trip to Seal Machias Island the week before Alfred. There were 5 foot seas and I was drugged with multiple anti-sea sickness drugs. After the boat left the harbor we were told that it was unlikely we would be landing on the island. I told so many people that I was going to photograph Puffins that I had no choice but to suck it up and try to shoot from the boat. No easy task especially since the wind was in the wrong direction and the fog, clouds, and sun were changing faster than we were bouncing. I was half asleep from the drugs, nauseous, and pissed that we were not landing. Certainly no BPN Avian forum image, but one of the few keepers that I managed to revive. Thanks Al for your posts, at least you thought to document the journey. I am glad the weather didn't change as soon as I left but sorry you guys had bad weather. I am definitely going next year!
