When photographing ruby-throated hummingbirds by my home this morning, I captured this image. What I think happened is that this male hummer was making a routine approach to one of our feeders. But then he spotted another hummer with the same idea. In a fraction of a second our bird here went to plan B: drive off the interloper! And in a flash, the amazing agility of these birds in flight was manifest!
I particularly enjoy this image, and I hope you will too.
