A big yes, I like many of the images with blurred elements. I find the bit of grass in the left FG a bit distracting, and I do not tend to like lime green on anything but limes, but that is a personal preference and doesn't reflect on the quality of the image. Nice and sharp and noise free, well done with the long lens slow shutter and high ISO. Thanks for posting something different along with a question.
Lance, I like the concept of the oof bird behind the main bird. The green is a bit too much to me as well. I think it would work though if the oof bird was not there and if more of the main bird was showing in the photo with less of a crop.
It works for me if thought of as just one in your series of these beautiful little birds. Standing by itself, I don't find it as appealing as some of the earlier ones; the foreground bird is so beautiful that the oof bird detracts, IMHO. Lime green is a bit too much.
Lime green is grass in the BG - desaturated it a little - maybe some more then?
This is/was a attempt to create something a little different - have many standard beautiful portrait shots of these guys and will post one next time.
As they are Nocturnal and really dont do much during the day (Have a post in Avian - which is really what there days are about)
Hi Lance
I don't mind the green. Bird is nice and sharp for the lens and shutter speed combo. You must have nice technique. I would prefer if the OOF bird was not there. I am also seeing a 'foggy' area behind the head of the foreground bird that lacks the clarity of the rest of this bird. Did something happen in PS here or is it just my dirty glasses again??
DON
What bird is this? I find the OOF background bird distracting. Stunning detail in the eye. Agree with above question: what is the foggy area on the back of the front bird. the little flower weed in front of the breast is a great + but would the straight oof weed along the breast.
thanks for making us think

Great threat Lance Like the comments !!!
I'm enjoying your BSC images Lance. It's been great looking at them. I like the lighter green shade of the bg and the oof bird in the bg. I just wish the oof fg element wasn't making the birds shoulder look so fuzzy.

looks very nice I am undecided about oof bird

Good exercise Lance which can show a range of varying opinions...
i like it, lance. gives it a sense of family. nice feeling!
I like the idea. However, I think it would be more appealing if more of the forground bird was in focus. The body part (which seems foney for some reason) of the forground bird seems to blend in with the background bird, limiting the appeal and attraction and segrgation of the forgroung bird.
