    Default Black bellied whistling duck

40D. 400f5.6L wide-open. iso 320. 1/3200s. Canvas extended in the front as I caught the bird a little too much to the right in the frame.

I am thinking of increasing the lightness and decreasing the sat in blue channel as I find the sky a bit unnatural. Since I was exposing for the whites, the sky got a little underexposed. No polarizer used. Thought I'd ask for feedback before processing. Thx in advance.

Lovely flight shot, Kaustubh, nice to have the bird turning it's head to look back at us! I agree that you might back off a little on the blue channel for the sky. Also, you might be able to open up the blacks a bit. TFS!

I agree with Keith. The sky could go lighter, opening the blacks a bit would be good, too. You could also sharpen the bird some more.

If you have the new CS5, you may give the Shadow/Highlight feature a try, it is much improved. The head turn sort of redeems the going away pose. As mentioned, eye could be sharper.

Hi Kaustubh, Im going the other way, as I find the sky fine. You could try and open up under the far wing, and good looking species.
