    Default Maine Purple Finch

Purple Finch near a feeder, cropped a little, background is couple hundred yards away. Taken with Nikon D200 with 300mm f/4 at F/4.

Nice sharpness and perch John. Face looks a bit shadowed, might try to brighten it. It also looks like a candidate for a vertical photo.

Nice bird and BG, very sharp, good eye contact, catchlight all make a fine image. I wondered about the crop at first, but the more I study it, the more I like it. TFS.

Very humble looking bored, I like the soft expression in the face. Green is a great complimentary color for reds, making the bird really stand out. IF this were mine, I'd be temped to take some off the left to place the bid less centered in the frame. GOod eye contact and catch light.
    Thanks so much for sharing!

Lightened face using Tim Grey Dodge and burn. Should have cropped as suggested above :)

ps: Would have darkened the pupil but there were not enough pixels; must have been a healthy crop.
