    Default Common Tern

I made this at Nickerson Beach a few days ago. The light changed often because of high clouds and I had fun capturing them as they chased each other around or were about to land.

    Axel:

Lovely soft light, with nice detail, like the pose, esp. the tail paralleling the near wing. Pleasant background, good comp.

    Cheers

Like the placement of the bird in the frame and the green BG. Good sharpness. I think you've got some room to darken the blacks a bit.

I like the flying posture, and you have exposed this very well. Tack sharp, and against a lovely smooth BG.

Pure brilliance and top drawer. The exposure is nailed and the bg is to die for. Well done on one fine IMG !!

Thanks, Doug and Arash! This is very interesting, the blacks look pretty dark on my 24'' ACD. I lightened them just a tad.

BTW, I like the new multi-quote feature in the forum software.

Here is what it looks like if I put a black point on the darkest blacks of the head in PS, also subtracted a bit of color noise. very minor differences but since you have sharp eyes :)

subjective, but I think in real life terns the blacks are really pitch black.

Axel, I am enjoying the whole tern series. The strong diagonal comp in this one is superb. Sweet BG and excellent DOF control.

Ahhhh, I love that green BG. Agree that repost looks good, except that we always hear the drill about details in the blacks LOL
    Well done, Axel.

Didn't know you could multi-quote. That's something I've always wanted to do.
