    Got this awile back and figured I would try and get some comments on it now. Just some croping and a little touch up in PS.

    Nikon D5000, 1,125, Aperture Priority, F/8, ISO 800, 300mm, 70-300mm lens, Pattern

    Can't change the wrong name under edit...Please see my post below.

    Hi Vince,Hummingbird? looks like a woodpecker to me. Good positioning within the frame but the bird is very soft. Could be due to camera shake shooting at 1/125 sec....

    Acually it is a Woodpecker in disquise .......:D.......I was going to post a Humingbird but opted to post the Woodpecker........sorry.....but at least it shows you are paying attention.

    I really like Woodpeckers,

    This Hoffmanns or Red Crowned or something else in the USA?

    Hi Vince - good looking bird - but really quite soft - General rule of thumb - you want your SS to be 1 over your focal length as a minimum - IE: Here 1/300th.

    As you were already at 800 ISO - Flash would have been the other option. Did not say if you were using a tripod or not - that would also help.
