Had a specific image in mind and waited for the right bird to fly through the right spot. This is as close as I came to the image I wanted. The light finally left and the shooting was over , for now.;) Will attempt this again on the next shooting session.

    Joe:

Nice sky with bit of clouds, fish a plus, distinctive skimmer profile, all good.

If I were painting this picture, I would have put the bird in the upper left hand corner flying to the right ( sunset), but the darn birds don't read art books.

Good job, looking forward to your next creation.

    Cheers

Joe, Lovely, lovely shot. Love the colours and the silhouettes, both bird and grass are great and add a lot to the image.

I like the SH and the fish and the grasses--would have liked a bit more of them with the lens pointed down just a bit. I would have preferred that the bird be angled slightly towards you rather than slightly away.

A beautiful silhouette with nice anchoring by the land elements that make the shot for me. The colors are great too.

Joe, I love the silhouette and the fish hanging out of the mouth. I can't really tell with the silhouette that the bird is angling away. Nicely done and I'm looking forward to more.

Joe, this is beautiful. I like the placement of the bird in the frame. Grasses adding a lot. Spectacular dramatic color.

    Artie,
In order for me to angle the lens down more I would have to grow another foot or two.:) At 65 years of age , I don't think that is going to happen.
I do appreciate the kind advise. Always good to learn from one of the best.

YAW. All that I was trying to say was that in an ideal world the image would have included a bit more of the very attractive vegetation. Actually had you been shorter (or older???--I am 64 myself :)) that would have been the result!

I like visualizing images and the feeling you get when you get it or get close to it. I'll be looking forward to you next attempt, although this one is not too bad ;)

    Hello Joe,

Very nice shot of this bird in flight with a fish in the beak! How many birds have you let passed without fish before catching this one ;)

I like the light coming "from the ground" and the pov you choose. I like also the fact that the beak is hence opened letting us identifying correctly the bird....

    Good shot and TFS!

Many had to go by to get the "right" one. Lots of fun but can be frustrating as well. Worth it , when it works. Thanks for looking.
