    Default Iris Chiaroscuro

I've been working on creating some images for this theme, and this was the first one that I felt was good enough to actually post. I darkened the BG in PS to create the effect and then added an orton effect. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Nice image and application, Christopher.

I'm no expert, but, I would try the Shadow and Highlight adjustment in PS, to try to vary the lighting a little more across the flower, to accent the direction. But then again, we're all learning ... ;)

Really lovely Christopher! I knew you would be working on some flower images. :) The bg is excellent and the lighting and color satruation on the iris are beautiful. I would suggest that you extend the bright look of the stem all the way to the edge of the frame. This would anchor the image better, in my opinion.

This is a very beautiful application of the technique and sets of the iris really nicely. Would agree with dropping the stem to the bottom of the frame.

Quite elegant. Love the colors and the black BKGR as well as the image design.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the comments and suggestions. Here's a repost with the stem extended to the bottom as suggested.

Beautiful repost and I think that the softness and the dramatic lighting and BG add to this very much.

Very nice. Love the dark blue/purple and white against the black. Extending the stem works well. Lovely work!

Very nice effect Christopher. Like the repost and might even try playing around with S/H to increase the effect of the sidelighting.
