    Default Bokmakierie

The Bokmakierie is a type of Bush-Shrike and as such is usually quite secretive and elusive. Waited patiently for this guy to jump up onto this rock before I got a few shots in.

Great capture Victor. I like the head angle and sharpness. I'd consider cloning out the magenta splotch to the left of the bird's face, and maybe tone down various highlights.

I like the alert pose, angle and sharpness. I might give it a bit more room top and bottom, it might also work as a vertical crop.

I am betting that at least some of the yellows are toasted. Be right back....

Well, I would have lost that bet; just a sprinkling of hot pixels mostly on the rock. I added a 10% Blue Photo Filter to the neck only and reduced the YELLOW SAT there only 4 points for the repost. I will see how it looks soon. The neck in the orig appears detail-less and over-SATed.

I love the bird and the SH and the BKGR is OK too. Consider making this a vertical in the field as it is too tight on top for me :)

Thanks for the help guys appreciate it ... will try get one of these again with a bit of space around it. This one was a bit tight as shot - this is basically full frame.

Hi Vic, nice and sharp, and I like the alert pose. I also like the mixture of colours, and agree with a tad more space on top. Killer BG BTW.

That is why it should have been a vertical as I stated in Pane #5.
