It's like a game now... find the dust spot... :D
Light, BG, splash, eye contact and sharpness are all fantastic!
I only wish that the far wing wouldn't run across the neck.

The light, eye contact and calm water make this one for me. Running pose and sharpness look great, too. If the far wing were a bit higher, it would have put it over the top.

Fantastic light, pose and splash. Beautifully captured, far wing notwithstanding.

Nitpickers, nitpickers...I love it! It has wow factor for me - the beautiful bokeh, that gorgeous water and that lovely pose...water splash takes it over the top :)

    Chris:

I am with Nicki on this one. The first thing I look for in an image is impact. This one really has it. Yes, a couple of perfect world wishes, but it is so strong that they really don't matter to me. ( And I am pretty particular)

    Well done.

Beautiful shot Chris! Wonder why you are using the 600 instead of the 500...?
    Cheers,

Thanks everyone for comments and suggestions! Ofer, the 500mm is currently with Albert Froneman, my business partner, in the Kgalagadi. The 500 remains my favourite lens, but I must say the 600 did pretty well.

Thanks Chris! I recently bought a Canon 600 f4 IS so I am trying to get used to this beast - less HH work and more back problems....

Magic image, Chris !! Has everything subject isolation, moment well caught, action to burn, bg so supportive ..great poetry depicted.
Wing position doesn't phase this viewer. The goose step adds greatly.
