    Default House Finch

I was trying for Lark Sparrows this morning but had no success, so I fell back on the trusty House Finches :)

Set-up. I believe the perch is Crepe Myrtle.

Very nice image Aidan, I like the exposure, head angle, and BG. In an ideal world I'd wish for a bit more DOF to cover the tail, but looks like you were working under ISO constraints.

    Thanks Gal and Dave.

Dave- you are correct, I had limited light, and I don't like pushing the 50D past ISO 640.

Good-looking perch, look-back pose, sharpness and eye contact. I might take the midtones to 0.95 or so.

Thanks Axel, I had a feeling you might say that about the midtones. I like the brightness as is, but it is just a personal preferance :)

Aidan, I like how you exposed this. Beautiful BG. Love the sharpness and feather detail.

Another with an Alan Murphy-esque feel to it again with the over the shoulder look. Only you need to train the birds to land exactly where on the branch you want it to, in this case, about 1 3/4 inches to our left. You will need to go back and study his set-up guide some more m:)

Thanks Artie, I actually did get one with the bird about an inch more to the left later this morning. Maybe I'll post that one here too:)

Aidan, loved the balance that the leaves have created here. Well done. Nice pose, sharpness and head angle. Well done.
