Question MK IV Custon AF/ Exposure Setting?

I was wondering if any user of the 1D MKIV could tell me what custom setting is used to activate the rear AF stop button for AF and not locking the exposure while useing the shutter button only to take the shot?

    Thanks
    Richard

C.Fn IV-1 set to 2 will let you AF and meter with the far left button on the back of the body. The shutter button will meter and take the shot, but will not initiate AF. If you want the middle button to AF and meter, set C.Fn IV-2 to option 1.

    Thanks Doug.

Does 1V-1 set to 2 lock the metering or not?

I have both my MKII and MKIII set up to not lock metering using the rear AF button (also used to focus), reason being if I lock focus/metering on a bird say over blue water and the bird then fly's over land the initial metering is going to be wrong if it's locked.

I need it to "float" so to speak.

My IV turned up this morning, the setting I was after is C.FnIV 1 - 2: Metering start/Meter+AF start, as stated by Doug.

As Doug and Richard have said their settings work. After a bit of practice I found I rally like this setting. I keep the AF setting to AI Servo. If you push the rear AF button once it is like having one shot enabled. If you hold the AF button down you have AI Servo. Metering is accomplished via the shutter button. Really useful.

I have mine configured the same way. I moved AF to the middle button because it's a little easier to get to.
