    Default The 3 bears

    This shot was taken in Glacier National Park, USA.

    Taken with a Canon 30D and a Canon 400L f5.6
    ISO 800, f5.6, at 1/250 of a second.

    This is a massive crop.

    wow, massive crop, ISO800 & yet looks so sharp.
    what's happening to ur left - the bears seem distracted towards that side...

    There was a ton of things going on before this shot.

    These 3 bears were in the area because a mountain goat had fallen and died. The bears were making a meal of it.
    More than likely, many meals. (note the red on their faces)

    There were about 20 cars stopped, people taking pictures, stuff like that.
    While we were there, a black bear with 2 cubs happened along the scene. They were slowly moving along the
    hillside, but they didn't see or smell the grizzly family. At some point, Mama black bear must have caught the scent
    of the goat, and started to head towards it.

    The black bears started to move towards the goat, when Mama Grizz, got their scent.
    There was a bit of a moment between the 2 sows, then the black bears made a hasty retreat.

    This shot, was taken after the tension was over.
