I've taken on board C&C from me previous cheetah and tried to give this one some room and not over do the contrast. Taken early afternoon, so the lighting was never going to be soft and gorgeous. :( I've left the flies in the photo for Steve K. ;)

    40D; EF75-200EF @200mm; ISO400; 1/500' f5.6.

Noise reduction and USM at final size. Have saved it at a lower kb size as suggested by Axel (via Harshad). The hunt failed on this occasion also.

A nice looking Cheetah Hilary and I feel the colour & pose are spot on, but that is only my thoughts.

It's in trotting mode, foot raise, alert & looking, have the eye, a stock shot. My only thought might be to crop some off the top, just where than line comes in from the left, but if you have et extra, more room at the foot of the image great.

I've left the flies in the photo for Steve K.

    Hilary,

This is pretty good, I would prefer a little more room on LHS and just a little more punch:)

Nice loose gaiting pose and the turn of the head. Colors look good. Might darken the light strip in ULC or crop as Steve K. suggested. A fine image.

Thanks for comments. I do have more room so can try different crops as suggested. I find cropping very subjective so am happy to experiment.

Steve, flies are to go with your seal's flies! :)

pretty nice Hilary! as Steve said - stock shot :)
like the pose and gaze...might crop some off top as suggested.

cheetahs prefer to hunt at midday when the antelopes are used to the other predators resting :)

    Hilary,
I really like the angle of the tail and the different angles/positions of each leg.
