    Default Duck fight

    Hi guys

I have just arrived back from a productive weekend photographing waterfowl and flamingos in Kimberley, Northern Cape. A pair of South African Shellducks with ducklings gave us a lot of mirth, chasing all other ducks that landed on the dam. The light was magical, and the D3s/600f/4 combo performed flawlessly.

    Chris:

Kiran hit the hight points, with the fun interaction, sense of action, colors and exposure.
To my eye it needs a bit of CW rotation.

    Look forward to more.

Spectacular action. Perfect EXP. Yes to some CW rotation--look at the base of the splashes. A bit of selective sharpening of the face of the duck on our left might improve it.

Great interaction Chris, and I like the evasive posture of the duck on the left. Repost works well.

I really like this image, not just for the interaction (which is outstanding) but for the colors, composition and focus. Great work.

Superb interaction Chris. Lovely light and BG.

I have been wanting to visit Kamfers for a while now, but am just not 100% sure how to go about it. I know of the entrance just off the highway. Is this where you shoot from Chris?

Sorry Mark, missed your question (thanks Artie for pointing out). Mark I went with Mark Anderson to a small dam adjacent to Kamfers Dam. He has the permission from the landowner to photograph from there.
