    This is an in-camera effect with only sharpening and some standard adjustment layers - levels, hue/saturation, and selective color. Cropped for composition.

    Kerry, I wish the bird were angled more towards you. I might add a round of sharpening to the area behind the eye. I like the effect and it is perfect for the theme. Great job doing it in-camera!!

    Like this. The fine-ness of the perch (expressed right?) works wonderfully with the small bird. I don't think I mind the placement of the bird - the movement across the image (for me) is well done.

    Nice CR effect, Kerry. I like the pose just fine, though I might prefer a more off-center comp.
