    Default Cormorant Reflections

Hi everyone...it's been a while since I had decent avian shots to upload. I am on a conference at Sun City (posting from my hotel room hehe) and had my first opportunity to go to the famous Mankwe Hide in the Pilanesberg National Park this morning.

Lying on my stomach and shooting through the hide side-planks allowed me a lower angle, as this reed cormorant was putting up a good show in good light.

All comments welcome. Cropped slightly from all sides, but nearly FF as presented.

Good angle and light, Morkel. Captures the behaviour of the cormorant well and the reflection is a nice element. I like the intense red eye. Were the kingfishers co-operating?

Very dancer like pose, with neat reflection and light. You got a lot of detail in the dares, well done, Morkel.

Very nice! I like the composition with the full reflection. Your exposure looks goods as I see good details. The raised wings and head angle displays the bird's features nicely. Thanks for sharing.

Nice pose and eye and work with the BLACKs. I'd rather see more on the right to include all of the concentric rings from the drop even though the bird would be more centered....

Hey Mork, how did you enjoy your first trip to Mankwe? ;) Good job on the blacks, and I like the comp and pose. I like the colour of the water too.

thanks for the kind comments everyone...

Artie I had to rotate the image slightly to straighten the reflection and water lines, and I have to skew it again to include all the concentric circles as it's on the edge of the frame there...:)
