The background is an algae covered pond which I like the way it turned out. This is my first encounter with this species. I am very happy with both the back ground and perch. Thanks in advance for any comments both good and bad. They are not camera shy!

Very nice over the shoulder look with good eye contact and catch light. Nicely exposed with clean BG, and good placement in the frame. Good job!

Excellent result, Michael. BG, light and pose are all beautiful. The red channels is clipping on the wax spots and the yellow tail tip and addressing this may bring a bit more detail into these areas. Educational resources has some good thread covering these issues.

Light, pose and look, BG, Comp and IQ are very good.
I would remove the two small catchlight and leave only the big one in the middle.

This is terrific. It is not easy to make a fine image like this of this species. Welcome.
