Always feel they look so menacing and sinister and a bit of a thug these birds.

Trying to get a clean BG at this location is difficult, as you either have traffic of other birds, guano on the rocks, or bright yellow/orange lichen, but just about got there on this one apart from the slight white in front of the beak. Also their feathers are so amazing with such a variety of colours too.

    Hey Steve,
Excellent details in the blacks......the tight portrait really shows off the gorgeous eye. I do wonder if a bit of fill would open that up even more....but overall.....very well done!

Hi Roman, still trying to get t grips with Flash, it is something I very rarely use, need to get out more and practice. I think it would have just brought things out a bit more.

    cheers

Very nice angle and lots of detail in the dark plumage, not an easy task. They are mean looking birds, but I'm sure they have a big heart :)
