From Prescot, Wisconsin yesterday. This Indigo Bunting is easy to locate with his loud singing. He disregards the human element and comes in very close for up to 5 minutes at a time. This is one of many, many images taken. Thanks for looking.:D

    Hi Ralph

What a beautiful looking bird. You captured some very nice feather detail and I like the pose showing the back view. My only comment would be that the image would have been improved if some of the leaves had been complete rather than cut-off at the bottom of the frame. There also appears to be a dust spot between the two lowest central leaves.

    Cheers

    Rich

Hi Ralph and welcome. Sweet bird and pose and a great head angle. EXP and SH are fine. Did you have some more at the bottom?

    Hi Ralph,

Pretty bird. I like the perch and pose. Here is a quick attempt to add the tips of the leaves. I think it helps but it does make the bird a little smaller in frame. Thanks for sharing.

Great job Phil! I much prefer the repost. From the chapter on Advanced Composition and Image Design in ABP II (916 pages on CD only): "If something is worth including in the frame it is almost always best to include all of it and leave at least a small border around it."

Sweet subject and perch (and the repost inclusion of the complete leaves is a big improvement). Seems like critical focus is on the shoulder area - additional sharpening to the face area would be beneficial IMO.

Lovely bird, well captured. Inclusion of the leaf tips does help. In my neighborhood these guys won't allow me to get close enough, but I'll keep trying. EXIF data would be helpful.

Good-looking specimen, sharpness and eye contact. Phil's repost makes it even stronger, I only wish for a lower angle. Could you have moved back a few steps?

another small dust spot just to the left and below the beak. I find the head a bit dark on my monitor. Lovely Bunting Pose and detail.
