    Default hippo chiaroscuro

Not sure whether it is a fraction too early for the timezone difference, but hope it is close enough. Hippo photographed late evening after the sun had set, Masai Mara. Just a few light reflections hitting the water and edge of the hippo. I've worked it in PS but no filters. It wasn't as sharp as I would have liked but I liked the swirling water and dark feel of the image. Any C & C welcomed.

a bit dark, perhaps, but the eye is caught and keeps the focal point. the swirls add, I think.

Hilary, I like the eye and the life you've managed to catch in it. For me the entire image revolves around it. Nice composition also.

Thanks hazel & Denise. I've just re read my OP which seems a bit cryptic. I was referring to the timezone to change one weekly theme to another! Sorry about that. :o

Nice low angle Hilary and I like the eye contact and water droplets.

Hi Hilary, I like the action in this one too with the water churning and flying everywhere. Good CR effect on the hippo with the really dark areas and the angle of the light.
