    Nikon D3
    1/15@f/22

Tripod mounted. Some darkening of background, some cloning of specular highlights.

Seemed to loose some sharpness and slight blue shift on conversion for upload.

Hi Jay - Will be interesting to see what others say about this - IMHO a little soft and eyes have a bit of a problem finding a point of focus to lock onto.
The D3 is a great high ISO performer - would have boosted that ISO up a little to increase the SS - 1600 ISO or more is no issue on the D3.
    Keep em coming :)

Hi Jay, I like your idea and I feel you handled the comp well. I like the even lighting and the way you muted the backround and foreground. I would also have liked this a bit sharper but otherwise I feel this is an interesting comp...

I love this, I also feel like my eyes are not drawn to a specific location either. I'm not convinced that is necessarily a negative. Do you know what kind of leaf this is? Where did you shoot it and under what conditions? I'm trying to learn, too, so I hope you don't mind me asking.

    Thanks folks,

I went to another frame of the same image, which was sharper. Still working on the lighting to keep attention on the main leaf.

Sandra, I can't recall the name of the plant, It was taken at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, in St. Louis, early morning light, hazy. Ask away!:D

Jay, I love the textures of leaves and the soft fuzzy ones are cool. This could have been a bit sharper, but I love the comp and the light.... BTW, the layering of the leaves gives it great depth. Can't wait to see the next one!
