    Default Diving Pelican

Here is another image for this weeks theme. The brown pelicans were diving at a local salt pond and I positioned myself to get images as they entered the water. The settings were -

    40D, Sigma 50-500 @500 on Mongoose
1/1600 sec, f/8 Mode: Av Exp comp: -2/3 ISO: 400

Used adjustment layers for levels, saturation and selective colors. Applied NR and usm for the final image. Hope you like it...

Exposure looks good Indranil, and I love the water reflecting off the pelican's body. Great timing and VG sharpness.

Indranil, Very cool look to this with the feet hanging in mid-air. Love the framing.

Captured the fun of pelicans. The splash in the face adds to that. Clear. good shot

Super capture Indranil! I love the water climbing up the bill and the composition is well done. I would suggest a levels adjustment to bring the overall brightness of the image up a bit. Nice work!

    Nice image and application, Indranil.

How long did he hold that pose for you? :D Looks like he is stuck in the mud!

Would have been nice to get the whole reflection, but having shot similar images of the Pelicans, I know they don't stick around too long to allow angle adjustments.

Thanks all for the feedback. Appreciate it a lot. Also, here is a repost with increased brightness just as Kerry has suggested...
