I picked this because of the blink on the third lion.

Not really enough DOF but not really possible with lens involved.

Taken at Ngweshla, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, 3rd July 2010, 07.19.

    EOS 1D MkIII

    500mm F4 IS hand-held from vehicle

Looks like these fellows are off to school. The small cub in front is too cute.

I am certain that I said that I would use roads if is worthwhile:p

In this case it was, I could pretend it is an Elephant path but I think nobody would fall for that:D

The little guy in front looks like the real deal! He'll grow up to be a beauty, I think.

Yes, the littlest one certainly steals the show. Strange that that is the one in sharpest focus. What AF sensor or pattern did you use?

Yes to a cool gang but I could do without the two in the back.

    Hi Artie,

You raise an interesting question, I have jusy checked the AF points in DPP, there are two as I have CFN III 8 on option 1. Strangely enough one is on the right eye (as you look at the image) of the bigger cub the other is on the smaller cubs ear, so my manually selected point must have been either 4th or 5th from the left

I would have preferred just two but you do not get these sort of opportunities very often. I have posted an image with 2 1/2 Lions here http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...76-Young-Lions

    Lovely Ken,

I am with Artie on this one and wish the back two were not there as the light and catchlights on the cubs is perfect.

    Cheers

Hi Ken, great sighting, its one of those frustrating scenes, were the front two make it, and two at back take it away....

    still a lovely image...

Just a lovely image/moment captured, Ken. OK with the DOF and two in - two out look. TFS!
