If you've seen the movie you will get it (the title that is), otherwise - not so much...

Anyway, this capture was made at the Bolsa Chica Reserve on a day when the sun never came out from the fog. Started with a pretty gray image and used Topaz DeNoise and detail, then Nik Color Efx to colorize it, along with some PS curves, levels, and USM.

I didn't see the movie, but think this is quite cool. My mind is thinking the image should be flipped. But it gets me thinking, like it Kerry.

Jackie, I edited my post to reflect :) what I meant to say, which is you would understand the joke in the title. You definitely "got it", as the idea is to make you question what is (or could be) real.

I can't relate to the title or movie but the image certainly had me wondering if I was up or down. I really like the graphic nature of this image.

I don't know the movie but I like the concept and the flip and the crop, especially the fact that there is less room at the bottom as posted than at the top. Very clever :) Is anyone else seeing a blue cast?

I wish that the near wing were in the full-up position. It is funny how in the box principles--head angle, sharp focus, wing position, etc.--are always relevant with out of the box images.... I comment in similar fashion here often. The message from me is that even when you are going out of the box the starting point needs to be solid if an over the top image is to be the result.

Again I like the image and the concept, but always seek the soap box :)

ps: Thanks for your help in Denise's absence.

Hi Artie, and welcome back! Your points are well taken, but I did colorize this so the blue is intentional (is it water, or is it sky?). This particular day was nothing but fog and I felt it was more compelling to add some color. :)

Always glad to help out and Denise certainly deserves a break! We love her!! :D

On a second look I'd love to see a neutral version with gray water :) And YAW and thanks for the welcome back!

Here is a neutral version, basically as captured in the fog :) . I like this too and I had also tried a b&w conversion but I didn't like losing the little bits of color. What do you think?

Kerry, The concept and execution are wonderful. I love the original colors(your repost)-but then again I love high key more than most and this reminds me of a peaceful look. Great eye!
Kerry, You did a great job while I was away, especially with everything on your plate. The ship sailed smoothly... Thanks to you!

Hi Kerry, I like the repost better :) If you went to B&W, you could simply mask the colors back in.

Very clever, Kerry. I think I like the repost better. Can hardly wait to see the movie:)

Kerry I think I actually like the repost better. To me it puts more emphasis on the subject, and you are losing some of that fringing on the wings. IMmostHO:D.
