    Default Gannets In Love

    Attached Images Attached Images

    June 22, Bonaventure Island, what an amazing sight it is to stand next to 50,000 (or more) beautiful birds. Well worth the drive to get there.

    Canon 50D, 500mm f/4, ISO 320, f/5.0, 1/6400. Canvas expanded and usual minor adjustments in Lightroom and CS4.

    Dick;

    I think you got it just right here. Exposure, sharpness, composition, interaction, background, all come together. Excellent.

    Big congrats.

    Great job, Dick. Love the interaction, soft light and BG. Wondering if it's an option to place the birds a little higher in the frame?

    Great interaction, light, BG and eye contact. I agree with Tony and would put the heads a bit higher in the frame.

    Love the image and especially the BKGR. My only wish is that both of the bird's heads were rotated just a bit more towards you. I think that I may have seen the Gannets in Love title somewhere before.... :)

    Artie,

    I sincerely apologize for my unintentional blunder on the title of this thread. I certainly know your wonderful image, but forgot the title although it may have been in my subconscious. If there is a way to change the title of this thread, I would like to do so immediately. I would be happy with "Gannet Pair", or anything else along those lines.

    Thanks for your gracious reminder.

    Dick

    Hi Dick, No need to apologize at all. Titles of books or art works (I believe) cannot be copyrighted or patented or protected in any way. We can all write our own Moby Dick's if we want. So you are fine with Gannets in Love. :)

    So beautiful and special, well done.
    I Think I would place them a bit higher and close the aperture some more (you got enough speed ;))

    Lovely interaction captured, wish for a bit more room at the bottom and see a slight blue cast. Great framing BTW. TFS
