    Mrk3, ISO 400, f/7.1, 1/400, +0.67 ev, 700mm, tripod

    I shot this @ Trout Lake in YNP. I had been waiting since 0600 to get otter images. I was there because the trout were spawning. After 3 hours of waiting, I had given up & was leaving when I noticed splashing on the South shore. I hiked over there just to have the otters head to the North shore & the inlet where the trout were. I hustled back to the North shore & got this image among others.

    Further proof that patience sometimes pays off. The main problems here are the sun angle and the second otter, which has movement blur. You really needed a faster shutter speed.
