    any idea what this means? I dont recall ever hearing of any problems with AF points so I am curious what they are talking about


    1. Fixes the AF point-selection behavior of the C.Fn III-7 (Manual AF pt. selec. pattern) custom function when set to [1].

    I don't use a 7D but it sounds as if there were some AF algorithm issues that they fixed, maybe these were minor problems.

    From what I understand the issue in not on all models.

    Jeesh. I do wish Canon would e-mail registered owners when updates become available. I always seem to read about them on forums and the like weeks after they are out.

    Maybe you could try to register. For the Mark IV I got an e-mail when new firmware was available.

    My camera is registered, but nope -- no e-mail :)

    Never got it for my 30D either.

    EDIT: Aha! Found it! There's a box on the registration that I never checked that gets me subscribed to e-mail updates! Fixed now!
