    Default Green Heron Snacking

Taken at the Viera Wetlands 12/23/07
    D300 and the 500mm f/4 ISO 800 F6.7, 1/2000 sec. ev adj -0.67

I noticed this green heron coming towards me along the side of the cell so I waited for him to come into range. Unfortunately he came in too close so I could not get his whole body in the shot. I didn't want to move bvack and possibly flush him so I went with what I had.

Even with the 500...you had to be really close. I like it.

Love the action with the water dripping off the beak. Also, the water drops on the head make this one special. Wish its head was turned a little more toward the camera.

Sharpness and a good EXp are plusses here. The floating stick and other BKGR debris and the head turned away are all negatives. later and love, artie

Well exposed image and sharp detail - love the water drops on the plumage and that beautiful yellow eye. Wish for a better head angle, and that the stick was not there.
