    Default Red-Winged Blackbird Portrait

Captured at Wakodahatchee with Mark II, 500 f/4 with 2x. Morning light. Cropped to vertical. I know he's facing away from the lens, but he's showing a lot of color. I would have wished for more of a head-turn but this way I think he's looking wistful.
    comments appreciated.

Beautiful, Susan. Wistful...yea, in a pensive kind of way :)

Great details on the body and great bg.

Two thoughts, if you're so inclined: crop some off the top, and try to desat the reds to possibly bring back some detail in there.

Nice Red wing Susan. Love the head angle and though others may want a different view I love the back view showing the reds. Good details in the black feathers and I might crop some from the left to move off-center. Overall beautiful image

Such a wonderful regal pose Susan and the BG is gorgeous with wonderful lighting and excellent detail. Love the slight head turn you captured in this image and as mentioned just a slight crop on the left , just enough to off center your subject. Otherwise one of the prettiest redwing blackbird images I have seel !! Thanks for sharing.

Best suggestion above: de_SAT the red channel (to restore detail). Could have used a much cleaner perch...

Thanks to all for your comments. Will do the de-sat and the crop and clean up the perch a little.

This is a really nice image, love the bg and the detail on the back. I also agree on the cropping.
