I spent the day doing a lot of bird watching and photography. The picture I selected is one of my favorite subjects: Gulls. This is a picture of a Great Black-Backed Gull with a crab that it had stolen from a Herring Gull. It was taken at 730. Use using Nikon 300 S. and a Nikon 80 to 400 lens. ISO 400 1/400 f8 @300 mm. adjusted in Lightroom and Photoshop

Myer - Shot in the best of morning light and the catch makes it wonderful. I really love the whole background scene as it gives me a complete sense of place. At first I thought it should be brightened up a tad but the more I look at it the more I like it as it is. Nice one.

Myer - Great light, pin sharp and great action. Love the water falling off the crab. Pity the light direction was not ideal. Harsh crab shadow is a bit distracting. If you toned that down a bit and brightened up the gull's back the whole affect would be better IMHO:)

Sweet light Myer, and a crab that would fill any humans plate.;) The gull is well exposed, and I like the water trailing from the crab.

Sharp, and I love that the wave does not intersect the bird's head. You did relatively well with the off-angled light but if you had moved well to your left you would have enjoyed even lighting. As presented many parts of the crab and the gull are shaded. I am guessing rock crab. I love gulls too.
