    50D, 300 F4LIS, ISO 640, F4.5, 1/100
    I was luck the Hawk landed in a small area with light streaming in. The woods were quite thick and it was dark enough, hence the 1/100, I should have jacked up the ISO a bit more.
    Cropped a bit to 8 X 10, didn't have much to work with in the crop. Comments welcome.

    Lovely portrait pose, environment, head angle, all great.
    The bird is a little soft, possibly from the low shutter speed. Another round of sharpening might help.

    The colors look a bit oversaturated on my monitor.

    You really caught the intensity of the eyes. I agree that it could be a little sharper but wonderful shot of what looks like a red-shouldered hawk (juvenile) to me, but I'm no expert.

    Surprising that the hawk let you get so close. I like the setting and eye contact and agree on more sharpening.
