    Sharp, nice walking pose, noteworthy DOF for this f/stop, good job on noise at this ISO.
    I would like a bit more room top and bottom if available.

    looks nice Ian, good to see you are using the lens. focus seems to be on the body instead of the head and I would leave more space on top and bottom. colors are very nice

    Thanks, Arash. Yes, I'm loving the lens! It runs circles around my 100-300 in terms of focus speed. I'm beginning to think I need to do a MA on it, however.

    Hey Ian,
    I don't think this was a MA issue, did you put the focus sensor on the Heron's head? these birds are large and this guy is angled towards the camera so if you put the focus point on the body head will soft. just put the focus point on the head and you should be fine, even if focus is slightly back or front it will not show is small web image :)
