    Default Galahs

Three amigos photographed near a water trough on Kilcowera Sation, western Queensland. I'm not sure if this aspect ratio works, the 2:3 didn't look quite right so went a bit squarer.

Canon 7D, EF500 f/4 + 1.4tc, tripod, kwik-camo, ISO100, f/10, 1/320, cropped for composition, small vertical twig and two Galah fragments digitally removed at right. A bit of sky added at top.

Lovely birds, good HTs on all three of them, nice light and colours. Well done!

I love how the wing positions of each bird are all slightly different! I wonder if birds can be "left-winged" or "right-winged"?
    Nice picture!

This is awesome !!! Fantastic light, colours, sharpness, detail, and the similar poses of the three is priceless!! I am not keen about the square crop though. I feel a standard horizontal with more room on the sides can work beautifully.

Love the comp and the similarity between the birds! Great color as well.

    Simon:

Makes me think of the Three Stooges. Nice techs, great head angles, diagonal perch. Although I normally don't mind a square crop, I agree with Ofer here that more space, on the right would be fine.

    Cheers

Simon - Nice catch of the birds lined up diagonally like this - a fun shot that I enjoyed very much. Alvan is right....we have left overlap, right overlap and wingidextrous!

What a lovely triplet. Great light and sharp detail. The square comp don't bother me.

Thank you all for your comments. Ofer and Randy suggested a wider crop - so here's a 2:3 version.

Great frame, the eye contact of all the birds in frame makes this a winner...

Sweet, perfect focus on the three birds and nice catchlights and poses. Also, a beautiful bird rarely seen in photos, at last in this half of the planet
