Another image from our great sighting near Ngweshla, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, 3rd July 2010

Probably would be better without rear Lioness, but I decided to keep her

Beautiful lighting Ken with a nice head-on approach. Interesting to see the difference in eye colour as the cubs grow.

Really like the light and the low angle. Nice eye contact with the cub on the right.

The lighting and size differences make this superb. I do agree that it would be better either without the adult in the background or with her full in the frame and in focus (we can't have everything with a Prime lens and fixed distance though).

How is Hwange these days? Is poaching still a big issue there and are there problems with human interference??

Ken - beautiful image in beautiful light. Understand your choice about the third lioness but I would probably prefer it without her. Great shot.

    Rachel,
I have given it a go which transpired to be far from easy. I think that knowing it was there before makes it difficult for me to not see the edge.

    What do you think?

Please do not ask why it is now redder. It comes from the original TIFF!

Ken - Looks good and totally a personal choice as to whether to remove it or not. I do think it improves the photo.

Beautiful light and those babies are too cute. I do agree that it looks better w/o the adult
