    Default A Different Perch

Another male Lesser Goldfinch, but this time without the pine perch. I thought the pyracantha berries and green BG gave this one a kind of holiday feel to it.

Very nice! The red berries add a nice splash of color to the image.

    Aidan,

This nealy works for me. I love the sharpness, the berries, the HA, the BG but I find the overall colour of the bird and the BG just too similar. The berries stand out from the image and this is not the intent (I presume). I think if you did a little selective darkening of the BG then the bird itself would be a better focus. But hey what to I know :D

Beautiful shot and super detail, I like the pose and the perch. I would suggest however that it is a little too bright, I have looked at it after lowering the highlights in curves and also using Shadows/Highlights and I think it makes a big difference, but perhaps you deliberately chose to present the image in this manner.

Love the contrast of colors between the berries, the BG and the belly!

    Lovely pose and great perch.

Hey Aidan, nicely framed on the perch between the two twigs of berries. Super pose, and I like the light and softer colours. Well captured.
