    Default Short-eared Owl

    Hi

Another Short-eared owl shot. This was a very close fly-by with the bird filling the frame. They are great birds just to watch hunting and always fun to photograph. Taken with 1Dmk2N and 500mm lens at ISO 400 and F5.6.

    Cheers

Holly moses this is good. Love the sharpness and the slight movement in the wings. The BG tells a story of habitat. If only the head was a little more to camera.
    Stunning shot well done!

Yep, I'd be real happy with this one. The top view, BG colors and expression are all great.

Only a bit more room in front would improve this...very nice! Just love that intense stare.

Wonderful image. Maybe just a bit centered.

Simply brilliant. The owl is seperated from the BG perfectly. This is so sharp, and just love the detail shown on the wings. Great image Rich.

Beautiful flight image and the blurred bg is lovely. Well captured! Only improvement would be a little more room in front for the owl to fly into.

Many thanks for all you replies and comments which are much appreciated. Unfotunately the site where I photographed these birds was widely discussed on several forums this winter which resulted in and the hordes of photographers that decended made it much more difficult.

    Cheers

    Rich
